Down and Out Dirty in Beverly Hills

There's a scurrilous new site claiming that city council candidate John Mirisch is lying about his endorsements.  The particular one they mention is the one with the screenshot on the right, which can be viewed here.  Since the site making the claim allows no comments and is totally anonymous, I'm not going to give them the page views by linking to it, I'm just going to beg the question: who is so scared that John might wind up on the council?  Could it be the big developers frightened by the idea that they won't have their people?  Who else would be calling people in the middle of the middle of the night pretending to as them to vote Mirisch?  Because I'm sure that his campaign would do that.  Who else would send out anonymous mailers labeling him anti-semitic?  Because so many Jews these days are.  I'm sure tomorrow there will be a new mailer telling people he's not really a resident of BH, or that he's not really a father. Or that he's not really human.

Didn't people learn from the last election that the old-school, slime-bag Karl Rove tactics are something that the electorate not only can see through, but are damned sick of?  If I wasn't for Mirisch before, I certainly would be now.  We have change in Washington, lets get some at home!
